Terms and conditions.
The plain-English terms behind our quotes, payment plans, warranty and maintenance plans. Your written quote or contract always sets out the details for your job.
Quotes and prices
Before any work starts, we give you a written quote (on WhatsApp, email or paper) describing the work and the price. Work only starts once you approve it.
Quotes are valid for 30 days. Prices include labour and, where stated, materials. VAT is added at 5% where it applies.
Prices for maintenance plans shown on our website are estimates. Your plan price is confirmed at the free inspection visit.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your written quote, so you know them before anything starts. Larger projects usually need a deposit so we can order materials.
A deposit used to buy materials ordered specially for your job can't be refunded once those materials have been ordered.
Payment plans and instalments
On bigger projects we can agree a payment plan with you: the cost split into instalments paid directly to us, with no interest and no extra fees. For urgent repairs, we can also agree a later date for you to pay.
- Payment plans are agreed case by case. We may ask for a deposit, and we don't offer them on every job.
- The amounts and due dates are written into your quote or invoice before work starts.
- If an instalment is more than 7 days late, we may pause any remaining work until it's paid, and the rest of the balance may become due straight away.
- A payment plan is an agreement to pay us over time. It isn't a loan or a finance product, and we don't use banks or buy-now-pay-later apps.
Changes and hidden problems
Sometimes we only find the real cause of a problem once work has started, for example behind a wall, under tiles or in a ceiling. If that happens, we stop, explain what we found and agree any extra work and cost with you before carrying on.
If you ask for changes to the work, we confirm the new price with you first.
Warranty
Eligible work comes with a warranty on our workmanship. What's covered, and for how long, is written into your quote or invoice.
If something we did fails during the warranty period, tell us as soon as you notice. We'll inspect it and, if it's covered, put it right at no charge.
The warranty doesn't cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from misuse, accidents, water or weather events we didn't cause
- Work changed or repaired by someone else after us
- Materials or appliances you supplied
- Problems that existed before our work and weren't part of the job
Products we supply and fit (such as AC units, heaters or taps) also carry their manufacturer's warranty, which we pass on to you.
Maintenance plans
- Term: plans run for 12 months from your first scheduled visit.
- Price: confirmed at a free inspection visit before you sign. Prices on our website are before 5% VAT.
- Payment: yearly in advance (with 5% off), or quarterly in advance at the start of each quarter.
- Visits and call-outs: scheduled AC services and check-up visits are booked with you. Each labour call-out covers up to 2 hours of work. Visits and call-outs you don't use don't carry over to the next year. Extra call-outs are charged at discounted contract rates.
- Parts and materials: charged separately, with 10% off for plan customers. Small consumables are included.
- Not covered: parts and materials, faults found at the start-up inspection, full unit replacements, structural work and roof waterproofing, pools and gardens, household appliances, damage from misuse or accidents, and lifts and fire systems.
- Cancelling: you can cancel with 30 days' notice in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine). We refund any prepaid quarters that haven't started.
- Renewal: we contact you before your plan ends. Plans don't renew automatically.
Visits, access and cancellations
Please make sure an adult is at the property for our visit, and that we have access to water, electricity and somewhere to park. Please move valuables and fragile items away from the work area. We protect floors and furniture and clean up before we leave.
If you need to cancel or move a booked visit, please give us at least 24 hours' notice.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for damage we cause through our own mistakes, and we'll put it right. We are not responsible for problems that already existed, for normal wear and tear, or for losses that aren't a direct result of our work.
Photos of our work
We may take photos before and after a job, for our records and to show our work on our website and social media. We never show your address or personal details, and we remove location data from every photo. If you'd rather we didn't use photos of your home, just tell us.
